Starting the Walls

I just cut out the walls for the truck camper. Next step is to cut out the lightening holes and start adding studs. According to the plans I use, it called for 1/2 studs. It just didn't seem like enough strength for me, also I wanted to insulate the camper with a R value of 14 or more. I picked up some windows at a couple local dealers for as cheap as $25/window.

  2. Dan here, I am jealous, I built my own truck camper last year and have camped out twice with it now. I really want to start building another one, but the cost is stopping me. I spent $12,000 builind mine. So I am watching yours being built and my mouth is watering. I wished you lived close because i would be over there at the drop of a call. There is so many obsticles you are going to have to overcome and sometimes sleep on to figure them out. It's like a giant jig saw puzzle with no picture, but in your mind and you have to think 4 or 5 steps ahead of the construction process. I loved building my own last year, google "Home built truck campers" and you will see i am the 2nd or 3rd blog. I posted lots of construction photos, feel free to copy or email me, Dan....
